Key Advantages of the Garmin 010-01746-00 Forerunner 935 Black, B06XGD6CS4

1. Advanced Training Metrics for Serious Athletes

The Forerunner 935 delivers a suite of performance analytics that help athletes understand their fitness levels and training effectiveness. Beyond basic pace and distance, it captures physiological data that informs workout intensity and recovery decisions.

• VO2 Max: Estimates your aerobic capacity and tracks changes over time with run or bike activities.
• Recovery Time: Suggests how many hours to rest before the next high-intensity workout.
• Training Load: Quantifies the total training stimulus from recent sessions to help balance effort.
• Race Predictor: Projects finish times for 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and marathon distances based on current fitness.

2. Wrist-Based Heart Rate and Running Dynamics

The Elevate wrist heart rate technology on the Forerunner 935 allows continuous heart rate monitoring without a separate chest strap. For runners seeking deeper form analysis, the watch also tracks advanced running dynamics when paired with a compatible accessory.

• Heart Rate Monitoring: Tracks beats per minute 24/7, including during swimming with a built-in optical sensor.
• Running Dynamics: Measures cadence, stride length, ground contact time, and vertical oscillation with a compatible HRM-Run strap.
• Performance Condition: Provides a real-time assessment of your ability to perform during a run compared to your baseline.
• Stress Tracking: Uses heart rate variability to indicate daily stress levels and overall recovery status.

3. Durable Design and Built-in Navigation Sensors

The Forerunner 935 is constructed with a glass-reinforced polymer case that keeps weight low while offering durability for outdoor training environments. It includes a suite of navigation sensors that are often found in higher-end adventure watches, making it practical for off-road routes and race courses.

• GPS and GLONASS: Provides accurate positioning in challenging environments where signals may be obstructed.
• Barometric Altimeter: Measures elevation changes precisely for hill repeats and mountain runs.
• Compass: Offers built-in electronic compass for orientation without needing a phone.
• Lightweight Build: Weighs approximately 49 grams, reducing fatigue during long races and daily wear.

4. Integrated Multisport and Triathlon Features

The Forerunner 935 is built around triathlon and brick training, offering a single device that transitions between sports quickly. Dedicated modes capture sport-specific data while keeping the overall workout history organized in one timeline.

• Multisport Mode: Allows one-touch transitions between swim, bike, and run during a race or training session.
• Swim Metrics: Tracks stroke type, distance, pace, SWOLF score, and drill logging for pool workouts.
• Bike Features: Supports ANT+ sensors for speed, cadence, and power meters when paired.
• Transition Timer: Automatically records time spent in transition zones during multisport events.

5. Smart Connectivity and Long Battery Performance

Beyond training, the Forerunner 935 offers practical smart features that keep you connected during the day. Its battery life supports extended training blocks without frequent charging interruptions.

• Smart Notifications: Displays call, text, and calendar alerts when paired with a compatible smartphone.

• Music Controls: Provides remote control for smartphone audio playback during workouts.

6. Cycling and Running Performance Tracking

The Forerunner 935 is equipped with specific metrics for both cycling and running that cater to athletes who train across multiple disciplines. These tools provide actionable data that can be reviewed after each session to refine training plans.

• Cycling Dynamics: Tracks pedaling smoothness, platform center offset, and power phase with a Vector power meter.
• Strava Integration: Seamlessly syncs activities and segments to the Strava app for community challenges.
• Auto Pause and Auto Lap: Automatically stops timing during rest breaks and marks lap splits based on location.
